We are excited to announce that the Open Source Security Foundation (OpenSSF), a cross-industry initiative uniting the most important open source security efforts and their supporters, will host a meetup on Thursday, October 3rd, at Renesas Electronics.
At this meetup, we will present reports from the Secure Open Source Software (SOSS) Community Day Europe, held on September 19th in Vienna, alongside one of Europe’s largest OSS conferences, the Open Source Summit Europe (September 16-18).
SOSS Community Day Europe, formerly known as OpenSSF Day, is a community event centered around open source security. Following the SOSS Community Day North America in Seattle this April, the European event will explore the latest trends in OSS security. Participants from Japan will bring back key highlights from the event and share them with you in Japanese.
After these reports, we will introduce the basics of SLSA (Supply-chain Levels of Software Architecture). Although gaining increasing attention, SLSA is still not widely covered, particularly in Japanese. This meetup offers a rare opportunity to learn about and discuss SLSA in depth.
Our goal is to create a space where individuals facing similar challenges in OSS security can come together, share knowledge (primarily in Japanese), and work collaboratively toward solutions. We welcome anyone interested in OSS security, whether you are a member of OpenSSF or not.

About the OSS Security Meetup – Why OSS Security Matters
Modern IT systems heavily rely on open source software (OSS), with estimates suggesting that 70-90% of the software used in products and services is OSS.
