Are you interested in addressing open source software (OSS) security risk? Software Bill of Materials (SBOMs)? Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in OSS security? If so, plan to join us at our next OpenSSF Town Hall on Thursday, March 16th at 10 AM US/Pacific Time. During this virtual town hall, we will give you a tour of the OpenSSF, let you know what some of our projects have recently been working on, and walk you through how to get involved in our various initiatives. If you’re an open source software maintainer, contributor, community member, or user who recognizes the importance of security, but haven’t joined an OpenSSF Working Group or Project yet, this will be a great introduction for you to get up to speed quickly with how you can participate.
Town Hall Agenda
At our Town Hall, we’ll introduce you to OpenSSF, review what’s been happening over the past few months, and share about what’s next. You will get an in-depth tour of several key initiatives and find out how you can join us in securing the OSS ecosystem. The March Town Hall agenda includes:

- Addressing security risk with Alpha-Omega – A look at how we’re improving the security of open source software through direct maintainer engagement and expert analysis – Michael Scovetta, Microsoft
- What’s happening in the SBOM Everywhere group? – An update on the past present and future of the group – Josh Bressers, Anchore
- Advancing DEI in Open Source Security – An introduction to how the OpenSSF Best Practices WG is building bridges and evangelizing DEI across open source development and supply chain security – Christine Abernathy, F5 and Dr. Jautau “Jay” White, Microsoft
- How to get involved – Find out how you can join OpenSSF Working Groups and Projects and start contributing right away – David A. Wheeler, Director of Open Source Supply Chain Security, The Linux Foundation
- Moderated Q&A Session – A time for question and answer with all of the panelists
