At the end of October, the Linux Foundation, the Linux Foundation Europe and OpenSSF will gather leaders across industry, government, and open source communities for three impactful events in Belgium. Together, these back-to-back gatherings will advance collaboration, shape policy, and highlight the critical role of open source in Europe’s digital future.
October 28 – Linux Foundation Europe Member Summit (Ghent)
The week begins with the Linux Foundation Europe Member Summit, a members-only gathering of Linux Foundation Europe members and invited speakers. Business and technical leaders will share organizational priorities, explore collaboration opportunities, and discuss the latest developments in Europe’s open source landscape. Topics include the strategic importance of international collaboration, digital sovereignty, and the role of open source in Europe’s digital transformation.
The Linux Foundation Europe Member Summit is an invitation-only event for member companies of The Linux Foundation Europe. Invitation codes will be sent directly to member companies.

October 29 – Linux Foundation Europe Roadshow (Ghent)
The next day, the LF Europe Roadshow opens its doors to a wider audience of developers, policymakers, and community leaders. OpenSSF is sponsoring the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) in Practice Track, underscoring our commitment to supporting secure development and helping stakeholders prepare for compliance.
Highlights include:
Christopher Robinson (CRob), Chief Security Architect at OpenSSF, will speak on Cybersecurity Strategy in the Face of Global Digital Regulation and deliver the closing keynote, ensuring the CRA conversation remains central to the Roadshow.
CRA in Practice Sessions: Building on last year’s standing-room-only CRA workshop, these sessions will bring participants together to collaborate on secure maintenance challenges and explore practical steps for shaping CRA readiness into 2026.
By sponsoring the CRA track and featuring CRob in a leading role, OpenSSF is ensuring the open source community drives the conversation on security, regulation, and innovation across Europe.
October 30 – European Open Source Security Forum (Brussels)
The week concludes in Brussels with the European Open Source Security Forum, co-hosted by OpenSSF and the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS). This invite-only event will unite policymakers, security experts, and open source leaders to advance impactful security initiatives and policy efforts. The program will include:
- Keynotes from European policymakers
- Panels on regulation, CRA readiness, and emerging technologies such as quantum security
- Targeted discussions on cybersecurity skills and future EU policy frameworks
This Forum provides a unique platform to align Europe’s policy direction with open source security priorities, ensuring that community voices are represented at the highest levels.
This event is complimentary to attend, but has limited space. Please express your interest to attend and the team will confirm registration details.
