The Open Source Security Foundation (OpenSSF) is thrilled to announce that nominations for the Golden Egg Award are now open! This award honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the open source security community. After its successful debut at SOSS Community Day North America, the award is back to recognize more exceptional individuals at SOSS Community Day Europe this September. If you know someone who has demonstrated exceptional dedication and impact in our community, now is the time to nominate them for this esteemed recognition.
Criteria for Recognition
To be considered for the Golden Egg Award, nominees must have actively participated in at least one of the following three areas:

Community Technical Contributions
- Consistent Contributions: Have they consistently and significantly contributed to OpenSSF’s technical initiatives or other security-related open source projects? This could include developing tools, fixing bugs, or providing technical leadership.

Community Content
- Blog Posts and Reviews: Have they written insightful blog posts or played a crucial role in reviewing guest blog entries? Their written contributions should add significant value to the community’s knowledge base.
- Technical Guides and Reports: Have they authored technical guides or comprehensive reports? Such contributions should help educate and inform the community, enhancing our collective understanding of security best practices.

Community Outreach
- Talks and Presentations: Have they delivered impactful talks or presentations on technical initiatives? This could be at conferences, webinars, or community meetups, helping to spread knowledge and inspire others.
- Event Organization: Have they actively participated in organizing community events, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing? Their efforts in bringing the community together are vital for our collective progress.
